Lallemand Student Prizes awarded during ASEV 2019 (USA)
Lallemand Oenology sponsored three students prizes this year again at the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV) Conference organized in June 19th, in Napa, California. Selected students are recognized with these awards each year based on the content and quality of their winemaking or winegrowing oral or poster presentations at the Society’s Annual Meeting/National Conference.
This year, the winners in Enology are:
- Courtney Tanabe, Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis, USA, awarded for Best student Oral Presentation on Elemental Analysis of the Changes in Metal Profiles during Winemaking. This is the second award for Courtney Tanabe, who also received the prize in 2016.
- Thi Nguyen, Graduate Student Researcher the University of California, Davis, USA, awarded for Best Student Flash Talk Presentation on Evaluating Wine Oxidation Using Spectrophotometric Iron Speciation. Again, this is the second award for Thi Nguyen who received the same prize last year!
- Jarrad Gollihue, PhD candidate at University of Kentucky, Lexington, awarded for best poster on Evaluating the Influence of White Rot Fungi on Volatiles Produced by Quercus alba Barrel Staves
